Beads, tea and one Saturday morning…

Image…what a lovely way to spend a Saturday morning back in Bath after what was a great wedding and an amazing honeymoon in Australia. Crashing back to reality and work was really hard, so my kind Mum phoned to say she had booked me a one day jewellery making class at Bijoux Beads as something nice to look forward to – thanks, Mum, it was great…and here are the results of my creativity!

Bijoux Beads is a lovely little bead and findings shop in the centre of Bath…see link: http://www.bijouxbeads.co.uk and they run regular jewellery making classes for small groups…and absolute beginners like me! I had a fantastic time there – with a class of only 6 and an excellent tutor, you get lots of help and advice. We had tea on tap and chocolate biscuits…and a really lovely bunch of people who were all there to try new things and learn a new skill. There is plenty of time to look around the shop and pick your beads from a HUGE range of glass, clay, metal, plastic, wood and ceramic beads and you get advice on what beads work well for necklaces, earrings, bracelets and so on. I left having made two necklaces and a pair of earrings…and felt like I had a whole new skill! …Mother’s Day gifts are now sorted…and I’ve spent the last few weekends making gifts for friends!

Bijoux Beads runs all sorts of jewellery making classes from brooches to tiara making! I am now off to my ‘wirework’ class in a few weeks! Good times…and hopefully more pretty things to follow!
